Looking to become a fashion blogger, a fashion stylist or a fashion influencer? You’ve come to the right place!

“Now, I receive a few packages every week that I’m now friends with the postman and the courier!”

Receiving packages from different brands on a regular basis? Sounds like the life of a thriving fashion blogger! Keep on reading to know more about Paulina, one of the most famous, newest, fashion influencer in Northern Italy!

What is your name or what should we call you, and how long have you been a stylist/blogger/influencer? Do you remember the year (maybe the day and month, too) that you started?

My name is Paulina, but everyone calls me Raroika. I am originally from Poland but moved in Italy a couple of years ago. I started blogging in 2005 as a story writer, model and next as a beauty blogger, bio-food blogger, and now as a fashion blogger and stylist. Also, I’m planning to become a fashion-travel blogger (on YouTube) because I love travelling and I live in a beautiful place; at the foot of the Italian alps.

Do you have a specific style?

That’s a great question! I would describe my style as feminine and… a little bit spunky, with a touch of glamour. I love Boho chic, too, so my style is… versatile. I have so many different pieces in my wardrobe! I love mixing to create different looks. Styling is definitely my obsession!

Why did you want to become a blogger or an influencer? Was there anything that happened that triggered you to become one? Did you see something or someone online, or was it because of your avid interest for fashion?

I decided to become a fashion blogger because it’s like putting together two of my passions: modeling and fashion. I don’t really idolize any fashion blogger though, and it’s probably because I don’t want to be influenced. I also have been working as a model since I was 16 years old (if i remember well). I enjoy the process of creating a post, too; I love to use Photoshop. These days, I can’t live without my camera, action cam and my phone anymore!

How did you start? Did you start with social medias first, then made a site? Or did you start off with a website together with the social medias?

I started with my website only, without any social medias. Now, however, I use Instagram and Facebook (my private profile!).

Which website are you using for your blog (WordPress, Blogpost, etc.)? Do you have a reason as to why you chose this website? If so, what were they?

I chose Blogspot to create my blog. I don’t really have any particular reason as to why I chose Blogspot, but to be honest, I don’t think it matters which platform you use.

Which social media do you think was the most helpful one in terms of reaching your audience? Why did you think that it was the best medium to use?

I think the most helpful one is Instagram. It’s my favorite, too, because, you know, I love photography!

Do you use more social medias now compared to when you were just starting? If so, which social medias have you added?

No, I try to only use Facebook and Instagram. It’s because I haven’t got a lot of free time. I still have a full time job.

How often do you post on your social medias when you were in the beginning stages? Was there a specific time that you thought was the best to post?

When my blog was in the beginning stages, I post every day. Now it’s different; every week I publish some fashion post on my blog at www.raroika.com, and on my Instagram I post once every two or three days. Usually, I publish some selfies or lifestyle posts.

What camera were you using when you started? Did you have a photographer or you took the photos by yourself? Would you be able to compare the quality of the photos from when you were just starting and to how it is now? What were the changes?

Yes, I have a photographer/photographers, but sometimes I take the photos by myself too. I use my Nikon D3200, phone or an action cam. I think that the quality of the photos is very important, and of course the quality of my photos has improved gradually. It was necessary.

Was there a specific blog post or social media post that made you go “Wow!” because of the amount of likes, follows or interactions it received? What was that post?

Hmm… Yes, It’s this post. I published this fashion post a few months ago on my blog and the viewership of my page has increased almost threefold! It was amazing! It’s only a normal fashion post with a normal outfit, nothing extraordinary i thought.

How was your first year of becoming an influencer? Others have said that the first year is the hardest, for any business in fact. Was there ever a point that you didn’t think it would work? Did you ever get demotivated? If you did, what happened and how did you go through that obstacle?

Right. The first year is the hardest; being an influencer is not easy.  I got some “haters”, and of course, it’s not nice to read/hear some judgment or insults from people who don’t know me, but they eventually became normal to me. Did I ever get demotivated? Oh, yes, a lot of times. Often, though, it was those haters that demotivated me, but I’m doing what I love that I didn’t mind them anymore.

As an influencer, there must be a lot of times that you were contacted for a collaboration, do you remember the first time you were sponsored by a brand? Do you remember which brand it was and what it was that you received?

Oh, it was years ago. I think it was some lipstick, but I don’t remember which brand it was. Now, I receive a few packages every week that I’m now friends with the postman and the courier!

Receiving that from the brand, how did it make you feel? For many bloggers, that must have been such an achievement! Did you celebrate when it happened or was there anything that you did in particular to celebrate?

It’s like a gift, and I love receiving gifts! It’s always a surprise. And every time I open the packages, I always thought to myself of how cool or how perfect it is!

Do you have any advice to the future influencers/bloggers/stylists? Do you have any few words for them that they could keep in their minds to keep them motivated or inspired?

One of the best ways to harness influencer marketing is to be an influencer yourself!

Finally, do you have a motivational quote that could surely motivate you whenever you are feeling demotivated? If there is, what would that be?

When I’m feeling sad, down or demotivated, I just talk to myself: “Look around, you have all that you needed, all that you ever wanted. Keep your head up and keep going!
